The interview process was very disorganized. It sounded like they are essentially looking for an engineer that wants to be a recruiter (considering the level of screening required). They are looking for someone to fully assess technical ability within the first phone screen. This is purely unrealistic. As a technical recruiter, you assess technical ability at a mid to high level and let the hiring manager take a deep dive to assess further. Was informed the engineering dept can be problematic and is not on board with interviewing processes. Sounded like they need to become aligned prior to bringing on another team member to their recruiting team.
