A former colleague of mine referred me to a role towards the beginning of the year. They also informally connected me to someone in a similar role at Affirm. We proactively set up time to connect and had a great conversation about their experience. Unfortunately after I applied through a greenhouse referral link, I never heard back from anyone in HR. I only received an automated message after my submission. It is very disappointing that there wasn’t some level of communication from HR to their prospect, particularly for an internal referral within this hiring climate. It makes for an awkward experience overall and between the colleagues referring each other.
