I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Aerotek
Interview
For a recruiting firm, I was extremely disappointed in their internal recruitment process. Very specifically, I found the internal recruiter based out of Scottsdale, AZ to be very unprofessional since the beginning of the hiring process. My first inkling of her unprofessional behavior was by referring to me by the wrong name. In her initial email, she referred to me as "Juan". I found this extremely offensive and racially insensitive. Hispanic last names do not necessarily imply a Hispanic first name. Next, she canceled and rescheduled my initial phone screening twice. The third attempt to set up a timely phone screen, she did not call at the time scheduled. Again, I found this to be extremely unprofessional. After moving to the interview phase, I had a face to face with an account manager and subsequently did their office day observation. Once concluding my interview with an account manager, I was told I would receive final feedback the following week. No feedback. Emailed the internal recruiter for an update the following week and she responded that I should hear final feedback the following week. No feedback the following week. Waited an additional week to reach out to the internal recruiter again and an automated email response said she was on vacation. To this date, I have not received any feedback. In my opinion, this behavior is extremely unprofessional. Not abiding to scheduled phone calls, not returning emails, and not having the courtesy to send an automated rejection letter- is the epitome of poor service.
The interview process was quick. Lasting around 15 minutes. There are several interviews that you will go through. They will do an initial interview with the director. Then you will get scheduled for a follow up. This is where you meet the other recruiters and account managers. They will walk you around the office and have you shadow some of the recruiters.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What motivates you?
What’s your “why”?
Are you a go-getter?
Phone screening call with the recruiter giving me information about the job, then another virtual call interview more in depth to ask me more questions. The final interview is in person in their office.
Average difficulty covering standard interview questions. Phone screen followed by an in-person interview. Phone screen was received quickly after resume submission; in-person was with their head recruiter and then followed by one with their manager.
