      Front End Developer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer

      Interview

The process is very long. The team interviewing me looked like they did not want to do it. they were kind of very strict and not smiling at all and they had very little interest in the process.

      Interview

I had great rounds of interviews where I could really feel the company culture coming across the interview process. That shows consistency. I made it all the way up to the 5th round (out of 7). Between interview rounds they were very responsive. As a negative point: after going through my 5th round, I had to wait longer than usual for any answers (that made me realise I may have not made it to the next round). Since I did't get any replies I had to reach out to them for news, and only then they got back to me with the news I didn't make it. Overall, my experience was good, but I wish they had been as reactive when everything is going well, as when they need to communicate candidates who are no longer of they're interest.

      Question 1

I can't remember many at the moment but the "Why the career switch?" did come across. What's the value I can bring to the team? They test how resourceful you are when tackling a problem, do you ask for help or not etc..

      Front End Developer Interview

      13 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen in Aug 2019

      Interview

At first, I had a skype interview with 2 Front End Developers. We were talking about my previous experience, how I prefer to work, what I like and don't like and etc. In general, the interview went well and I got positive feedback in a few days. The next step was a technical task, that they asked me to complete in 3-4 hours. I had to create an application that connects to some public API, shows information to the user and gives him a possibility to filter the results. I sent my test the very next day and get the feedback in a week. The feedback was negative by pointing out UX/UI issues, the absence of Authentication and ErrorHandling and some concerns regarding chosen technologies. The other good comment was is like "There is no real case to use this application. Why would I want to use this ?", taking into account that the has been done according to their specification. And while in general, I agree with most of the comments provided to me, I don't really think that it is possible to create a fully developed application with in 3-4 hours. In conclusion, this hiring process seemed to be really odd, and I rather happy to be rejected on this stage.
