Acumen seemed to be a little disorganized in terms of the hiring process. The first part of the interview process included a basic statistics/logic exam, which I thought was odd considering the nature of the position I was applying for wouldn't require much statistical modeling. Then, I interviewed with 5 different members of the team, who were all very nice. At the end of the last panel of interviewers, they indicated that the HR manager would speak to me last to explain information about benefits, vacation policies, and other HR-related aspects of the job. They left the room, and I sat by myself in the conference room for a good five minutes or so until the receptionist came to tell me that they were "done with me" and that I could go. When I asked the receptionist when they would get back to me (a question I thought I could ask the HR person), she said she wasn't sure but that she was sure they had my contact information so they would get back to me soon. Needless to say, I didn't get a job offer. I can't help thinking that I probably said something wrong or off-putting in the middle of the interview (which would totally be my fault), so they decided not to hire me on the spot. However, I did come out of the interview with a negative impression of the company because the way they ended the interview felt unprofessional. But hey, at least everybody was nice!
