      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Achieve (San Mateo, CA) in Aug 2015

      Interview

Had six rounds in total. First round was on telephone with HR. She was nice and professional. Second round telephonic with Hiring (QA) Manager. Third round - skype call with QA Engineer. After that Onsite interview. During 5 technical rounds everyone was asking for same webdriver questions, Test cases for login to website which were not technical. They don't know what they are asking. They have certain mind set and looking for candidate according to that. No one during the interview was technical strong.

      QA Engineer Interview

      8 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tempe, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Achieve (Tempe, AZ) in Feb 2018

      Interview

If anyone gets call for specially in QA, beware of processes. I would rather say please don't even consider QA position in Engineering Department. Because they really don't know what are they doing and what they actually need. Interview Rounds: 1) hackerrank online test - JAN 23, 2018 2) Skype Call with Sr QA Manager and QA Manager - JAN 31, 2018 All functional Test Scenarios question, e.g. Give all functional scenarios for following 1. How to test Vending Machine 2. How to test account activity page or statement page of your credit card login account. 3. Prepare test data for testing of calculator...etc.. QA Manager asked similar type of question but she was silent most of time [her webcam/skype was not working]. Sr QA manager [located at CA] was asking all questions all the time, all related to functional test case, I was so surprised, looks like QA/Testing is just functional Scenarios for them I believe they are having very little knowledge about testing. 3) Onsite [Tempe, AZ] Interview with #[Sr QA Engineer, QA Manager] Skype Call - 45 Min, - FEB 02, 2018 Both were good while asking questions but same functional scenarios - ATM Machine, Toaster etc... This QA Manager was looking more sensible in terms of knowledge, she asked related to selenium question like write automation code for login for web app, counting hyperlink on google search screen, Sr QA Engineer asked about real problem e.g. facing issues in project etc...both were good, I answered each and every questions as I am good at automation and manual testing and write code too. Fact is that I assess lots of profile for automation testing project requirement in my current organization. #[Business Analyst] - 30 Min He was very professional and asked actual real world scenarios questions related to processes and collaboration between testing team and BSA. I answered all of them as I am working in Agile #[Two QA Engineers (with Zero Knowledge, and Zero testing skill set)] - 45 Min, First of all, these two QA Engineers are having absolutely zero knowledge no matter whether it is manual testing or automation testing or SQL. She keep asking questions and does not let you answer at all, she does not know the difference between QTP and QC, she just heard few terms from somewhere and pretending like those guys are automation champions, ooh god save me, now selenium question, she asked to write Xpath to find some element, I gave solution quickly, now she said what would you do if all elements are same when I asked for specifications, it was looking like whole html page is having same attributes, she is completely not aware about real world applications or html tags, just trying to prove that she is correct. No SQL knowledge at all, asked me to write a join query and made 3 tables on whiteboard [these tables shows that these folks don't not even know normalization]. When I started writing query, she was interrupting continuously, She does not even know the basics of writing queries. Another QA, he was kind of silent and googled some questions like how to find Largest number in some integer array? I answered by logic but he is not ready to accept solution because his google search gave him specific solution, then I went by his way gave him another solution then he was happy. The best part is that both supporting to each other to prove them right, I was thinking in my mind like, Boss I am not here to prove any one right or wrong, please show some professionalism and ask some experienced level questions. I am not sure, just a guess, QA Engineer might be feeling insecure what if some expert join in team. I was so shocked, surprised, and thinking I would really be working with these folks ??? Fact is that I am having 9+ years of experience specially in automation so I could figure out that its not place for me or any other good professional tester. # Director - 30 Min Asked questions like did you log any special defect which other person could not find?, can you work with offshore located in India?, tell me about yourself, did you miss any defect and which popped up in production environment. He was busy all the time with his laptop, thinking too much asking single question. Then He called Sr QA Manager so that I can go for last round. # Final wrap up round [Skype Call] with same Sr QA Manager - She asked me about compensation and how soon I can join them and other questions which are really asked if they want to offer job to someone, I told her my all expectations. She said they will reach out to me early next week. Feb7, 2018, I received call from Recruiter that Sr QA Manager did not select me, I thanked him, He wished me luck. Key Points - 1 - HR/Recruiter are very nice and reply so quickly, I was amazed. 2 - Not a good place to join if it is a position related to QA under Engineering Department
