I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ASV Wadeson (Melbourne) in Jan 2022
Interview
To start with, the receptionist gets you to jot down all your employment details in paper form, which includes requiring you to put down your most recent experience and list your salaries from those jobs . The Partners would then look at that summary as a snap shot just a minute before they see you.
The Partners did not even bother to read my resume nor did they take into consideration what the recruitment agency had advised as the minimum requirements I was looking for at this role.
The biggest red flag was when the Managing Partner opens the conversation with their expectation that you stay for more than 4 years, so that they can "get their money's worth out of you" and their displeasure in the latest person leaving after "only 18 months".
Second red flag a mere sentence apart: "It looks like you've been job hopping", even though my resume clearly showed that I had been in my role before for 3+ years and that they decided to hone in the most recent role which did not fit me and was less than 12 months tenure.
What made this a truly waste of time was the fact that they had not even discussed between themselves as to what their stance was for Working From Home (Post Pandemic), which was the key criteria for accepting an interview with the Recruiters. Needless to say, the interview did not go for very long.
The line that irritated me the most: "we think that you would have loved working here" when we were wrapping up the interview. It showed arrogance and their inflated ego.
