      Store Assistant Interview

      13 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Naas
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (Naas) in Apr 2015

      Interview

Very straight forward interview process. Submitted an application online, about 4 weeks later I got a phone call asking me to go for a group interview, then was the 1 to 1 interview and finally a work trial. Got a phone call out of the blue from the Area Manager and was asked to go for a group interview. I was delighted and had prepared as much as I could from reading other people's reviews online which really helped. For the group interview, I was lucky there was only two other people at the group interview with me. We had to stand and introduce ourselves and talk a little about our previous experience in retail. Next was a survival guide we had to all do together as a group. If you want to be successful, I would recommend you come across the most voiceful and manage to get out as many points as possible without sounding overly confident. Afterwards we were given some quick maths tests that were time restricted just so the Area Manager would see how we could cope with adding and doing maths equations on a time restriction to see our compatibility and how we could handle being on tills. This interview took about an hour, which flew by! About two days later I got a phone call from the Area Manager giving me a short overview about how I had got on in the group interview and asked me to meet for a 1 to 1 interview. At this stage I was feeling really hopeful on getting the job. At the 1 to 1 interview, it was more formal and the questions were more intense. Once again I spoke about my previous work experience and the rest was just about getting to know me as a person and how well I can work with others. A few days later again, I got another call asking me to do a work trial early in the morning at the store. This was the point where I got to meet other staff members and was able to do some work with them which was great. I was there about an hour which is what I was told it would be. About a half hour after I left the work trial, I got a phone call from the Area Manager offering me the job and that I needed to attend an induction where we would be properly introduced to the work place. Very positive experience through the interview process for Aldi and from working there a few months now.

      Interview

Started as a group where we were educated on the history and benefits about working at ALDI, and were asked what we think working at ALDI is like. Seemed like a good company with fair pay. The individual interview itself only asked availability.
