      Store Assistant Interview

      30 Jul 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (London, England) in Jul 2017

      Interview

I applied online, completed the online test which was quite easy. After a week or so I received an email to book a slot for a group interview. When I arrived at the store where the interview was taking place I was taken into a kitchenette where already some were waiting. After ten minutes or so an interviewer walked in, she was a very pleasant lady, smiling all the time. She took us into another room (6 of us) and got us seated around a table. She explained the position, asked whether we have any questions. Then she asked each of us to introduce ourselves and say why we had applied for the position. Here I learned that 2 of the candidates had already worked in retail and took this opportunity to talk about their experience. Mostly the interviewer was interested how flexible we are. Next read out loud 3 different scenarios one at a time and whoever wanted could say how they would react, then the rest of us was asked to either agree or disagree and say what they would do differently. She read them very quickly so before I could work out what the problem was somebody had already answered. After this there was a 5 min test, mostly working out totals or the amount of change. For example the total of shopping is £28.78 and the customer pays with 4 £5 notes and a £10 note. How much change will they get? The mathematical questions were time consuming, I din't finish the test, did 7 out of 10. The interviewer told us she would let us know by the end of the week (my interview was on Thursday) regardless we were successful or not. The next step would be working experience. I still haven't heard from them and it has been more than 2 weeks now. I still hope I will hear from Aldi soon.

      Interview

Group interview where you had to role-play scenarios about working in the store. Hard to actually get a word in and it was online which made it even more difficult.

      Interview

Had a group online interview and I felt it was very hard to get any point across and it felt very over the top and the process seemed too long for what the job actually was

      Interview

Started as a group where we were educated on the history and benefits about working at ALDI, and were asked what we think working at ALDI is like. Seemed like a good company with fair pay. The individual interview itself only asked availability.
