I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL (Sydney) in Mar 2022
Interview
First stage was an extensive online maths and probability exam without calculator or paper. The software was a little clunky but overall it was fairly easy. The exam had a few different sections, the first was quick maths, multiplications of decimals, etc. They just see how many questions you can get through. The next section was probability. Lots of questions about dice and card desks. And there was also a general finance knowledge section (who is the Australian minister of finance, who is US Fed Chair). Next stage was a zoom interview with a junior trader at the firm. It lasted for 30-35 minutes. Final stage (I didn't make it) was an in person interview.
if you roll 3, 8 sided dice, what is the probability of getting the same number on all 3. Then, if you win $80 if you play this game, how much would you be prepared to play? If this game repeated 5000 times, how much would you pay to play now?
There was a mental math and sequences assessment followed by technical with a trader and behavioral round with HR along with the final round. Question topics inlcuded probability & stats & market making questions.
