I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AIG (New York, NY) in Sept 2015
Interview
on-campus behavioral 30 min
phone screen with senior actuaries 45min
on-site interviews
Actuarial entry level jobs focus heavily on exam process, excel/vba/statistical software capabilities, actuarial communication skills, and other attributes
P&C actuarial positions seem to focus more on statistical aptitudes while Life gives due merit to background and interest in macroeconomics and financial derivatives
Predictive modeling is the key word in P&C nowadays, while sufficient knowledge of various products is a definite plus in Life side
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
technical skills, internship experience, industry knowledge, mini cases
HR call then meet with team members. Overall mostly behavioral questions, never got any technical questions. They seem to be more interested in cultural fit rather than technical skills. Very causal overall.
I applied online. I interviewed at AIG (New York, NY) in Dec 2023
Interview
Casual and efficient. Screening call was casual: asking basic information of you and your experience and telling you about the position. In the next interviews they gave more role specific questions.

Question 1
Technical Skills like programming languages and proficiency in them
Quick Phone interview , just the basic, ask why do you think you suit the job, what’s your advantage compared to other candidates, and if willing to relocate. Didn’t get further with the process.
