      Installation and Repair Technician Interview

      9 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Edmonton, AB
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AFL (Edmonton, AB) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Received a telephone interview. Likely that it was just a pre-screening for candidates interested in the job, not the actual "interview". In the end I was not interested in the position. They offer low pay for their training period of 8 weeks, then a raise to $21.00/hr with no guarantee of consistent hours. If you prove yourself after a probationary period you can receive out of town work, but this only goes to those with the best metrics. I'm not sure how this would play out for most people but, as a father with two kids I am in no way interested in a job that does not guarantee consistent hours for its employees.
