      PGP Quality Associate Role Interview

      13 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Evansville, IN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ABF Ingredients (Evansville, IN) in Mar 2016

      Interview

Interview with PGP in Evansville, for a QA associate role. Interviewers knew that I had a Masters degree and decided to interview me. Mostly HR questions about my group work experience, my personality etc. My answers elicit smiles and nods with a positive feel all through. They never mention concerns in person about whether I would want to stay long-term with them as I'm probably overqualified, but later convey the same through the recruiting company. They also add that long-distance relationships usually don't work(my wife stays in Lafayette which is about 3 and half hours away by car). Overall, a feeling of being judged about my marital relationship. I'm a green card holder through marriage but with my wife staying roughly 3 hours away, it sounds ridiculous for them to bring my marriage stability into the equation. I email them my wife's contact number and email address, saying I welcome them to speak with her so their concerns can be resolved. There is no response to this email. My message to the company : Bring up concerns face-to-face, or politely/casually ask more about my marriage if that's a concern. Without talking about any concerns you have, stating the aforementioned reasons seems intrusive and over-reaching at best. At the very least, please have the courtesy of replying to an email from a candidate who travels on his own dime for a face-to-face interview.
