I was headhunted for the position. I was told up front that it was a sales role, but my experience is in project management. I told the recruiter I had no sales experience, and was assured that wouldn't be detrimental. When I was told (by the recruiter) that the company wasn't moving forward with me, it was because they wanted someone with sales experience.
