Unfortunately there ultimately was no interview although one was scheduled, but this story is worth sharing so that others know what they may have to deal with when they apply for an open role at 83bar. 9/13/22: I received a message from a "Recruiting/HR Specialist" for 83bar stating, "We are impressed with your qualifications and would like the opportunity to learn more about your experience and career goals. As the next step in our hiring process, I would like to schedule a phone screen with you. " The phone interview was then scheduled for 9/15/22. On 9/15/22 about 3 - 5 minutes into the scheduled interview time which I of course has prepared for and was waiting by the phone for the call, I get this email message "I am very sorry but I need to cancel our call. I will reach out to reschedule! I apologize for the inconvenience." Ok I get that business is fluid and that things come up that require changes to scheduled events. BUT, when a company commits to further action I expect them to carry through with their commitments. I emailed the "Specialist" back on 9/15/22 indicating that I looked forward to the rescheduled call which of course NEVER CAME! I reached out to the 83bar person who contacted me a number of times over the next two week period via both email and a business social media channel inquiring about the reschedule she had indicated would come. NO RESPONSE! Now any number of things "may" have happened to cause the initial cancellation and even the lack of professional courtesy in responding to my many follow-up messages. For example, maybe the job was put on hold or cancelled. Or maybe the "specialist" went on a multi-week vacation. Or maybe they simply lied about the cancelled interview and commitment to reschedule it which in today's hiring environment is not at all unusual but would show a major character flaw in this company. But as we know, the hiring process is full of pretense. Whatever it was, none of them are valid excuses for not communicating with a well-qualified candidate after they reached out to me. So job seekers, BEWARE. This is probably a company to avoid.
