      Interview

I did not make it past the first round, but the recruiter was incredibly nice and made the interview a pleasant one. Discussed experience, why I am interested, and of course general HR necessities such as pay.

      Interview

This is what most would describe as a typical interview process. The initial interview is with HR and if you advance you meet again with a manager. I did not get the impression that it would be a long series of meetings.

      Question 1

The initial meeting includes standard questions about key relevant experience and pleasant conversation about the company, the role, and requirements.

      Account Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at 829 Studios (Boston, MA)

      Interview

The interview process started off via a quick 30 minute video call with a recruiter at 829 - this part was a very positive experience that got me excited about the company and opportunity. The next step in the process was to talk to a high up member of the client services team, which is where things went south for me. Not only was my interviewer late, they also joined looking pretty disheveled. From the moment I introduced myself, this individual proceeded to scan my resume (line by line) and quiz me to see if I truly had skills and experience in the areas I said I did. Although I was able to answer all questions and speak to everything (that I intentionally put) on my resume, this moment came off as if the hiring manager was questioning my integrity - Which was a huge red flag to me. As if things couldn’t get any worse, the interviewer eventually went on to tell me about their “management style” - which in essence sounded extremely egotistical with a strong emphasis on micromanagement. I nodded and smiled my way through the rest of the interview and couldn’t wait to get off the call after being talked at for 10+ minutes straight. Tip for 829 Studios: this interview “style” might work for people who have either zero work experience or are desperate to find work, but for truly qualified candidates with even just an adequate amount of EQ, I’d reconsider your approach.
