Went to the office to meet the team and learn more about the position. The interview was conversational and I felt very comfortable. The interview process itself was great (they communicated in a timely manner, asked good questions, were incredibly friendly, etc.).
Found out I got the offer for the position in a timely manner (couple of weeks from the interview) and was stoked. We were supposed to meet in person to go over everything but then they canceled the meeting because of illness (of course I'm not upset about this). I responded immediately that day wishing them a speedy recovery and asked about rescheduling/timeline. No response. Waited a few days to follow up again. No response. Waited two weeks and followed up for a third time. No response.
So I got the offer, accepted via email and sent three follow ups, but never heard from them again....
Most people are understanding and understand when things change. I wish they communicated with me if they suddenly couldn't afford this position or found someone else who's a better fit or communicated anything instead of ghosting me. Ghosting is unprofessional and leaves a sour taste in people's mouths. Truthful communication would've been appreciated.
