I was contacted by 2U for a Director position and was told we think you will be better suited for a VP. Let's set up the interview for next week.
So the interview starts with a 10 minutes late call, then instead of being interviewed by an employee from HR that meets the exec candidates, that's normal. I got the best employee person they had, an HR Intern. That's an Intern that works in the HR department.
So in summary, the person that gets paid as little as possible or just in college credits and has zero experience, is qualified to make a decision about a candidate.
If the leadership makes decisions like this, then I'm glad that I'm not a new employee at 2U, because I'd be looking for a new job again.
