The hiring process is unnecessarily long and frankly disrespectful. It starts with an HR interview that requires an in-office visit just to “evaluate fit.” Then you are given a technical assignment that takes several days of unpaid work, followed by a second interview to review it. After all of that, there is a third interview with the company owners, conducted as if you are being vetted to run the company as a CEO. All of this escalation happened simply because I asked for a salary slightly above €2,500 per month for a Tech Lead role. This level of scrutiny for such a modest compensation clearly signals a company that is extremely cost-driven and undervalues senior technical talent.

Interview
I was asked to complete a take-home assignment before the technical interview, with a four-day deadline. The task included a wide range of features, more than what would reasonably be expected at this stage.
While I understand the need to assess technical skills, the assignment felt more like a full project. For a senior-level role, it’s fair to expect depth, but the time and effort required were disproportionate, especially when there was no guarantee of moving forward to an actual conversation.
It’s difficult to justify spending several days on work without even a discussion with the team. A shorter, more focused task or an initial conversation to establish mutual fit would have been a more respectful and efficient approach.
To top it off, I’ve heard quite a few negative things about the management in the Skopje office, something to keep in mind if you’re considering applying.
Honestly, if you feel ready for a senior position and want to skip the red flags, you’re probably better off applying directly to Deltatre. After all, 2Coders just outsources for them anyway.
