Pros
- Super flex work schedule: work anywhere, work anytime (no strict core hours) - Project-based nature for mid/back office - opportunity to upskill and learn new things not necessarily related to recruitment/HR - Japanese not necessary (but highly recommended if aiming to go up the ladder)
Cons
- From flat org to top-down - A couple of old staff in control of which projects get approved, even when they don't directly supervise those teams - Old senior people having a say on tech-related projects that they don't completely understand, leading to unnecessary stalling. In short, old senior people being the bottlenecks if not complete roadblocks to efficiency - Rampant lack of clear and effective communication - New processes get decided by people who don't have better knowledge about process improvement or automation, leading to unnecessary repetitive manual work and costs to pay third-party vendors - Upper management don't have confidence on more junior staff; direct managers don't advocate for their own members, so those who have the potential but don't get noticed or given the right projects are in bad luck to not go up the ladder - Salary increments not a thing - People with years of experience leaving the company, but upper management sees them out the door with no compassion - "New" management now consists of typical male Japanese in Sales; no hope for diverse upper management; DEI only for PR purposes
