What is the salary like at Vail Resorts?

Vail hires incredible people. Your coworkers are pretty universally easy to work with and interesting.

Leadership is a major bottleneck for decisions. Everything is sacrificed on the altar of shareholder value which would be less annoying if the share price wasn’t in the tank. There is also a 3 day per week in office requirement if you live within 50 miles of Broomfield. If you live in castle rock (45 miles) that’s a 1.5 hour each way trip. Most of our salaries were negotiated based on remote work and now if you live in Denver where it’s super expensive you essentially took a pay cut to cover commute expenses and additional childcare and meals in the office. Career pathing is inconsistent, performance ratings are falsely held to a bell curve, decision making is hierarchical to the point of feeling like a government agency and pay scales are 20% below denver market rates.

All the shuttle drivers are helpful to newbies and the Management is just as Personable and have an Open-Door policy. The shifts are varied for early risers or Parents needing time to drop kids off at school. Its a great Seasonal job and the pay is decent

Its in Cali, so you will be paying Cali taxes on your check. Your commute home gets a bit tricky with all the 'Casino Row' tourists and cars. The lights run quick, so if your behind someone who is people watching, you might have to wait for green light #3 at each (6 lights) light.

If you don't get employee housing, you won't find housing you can afford.

There isn't any flexibility to offer long time employees more salary. The pay does not compensate the job requirements and more work is constantly being added without higher pay.

Pay is barely above minimum wage. They will keep you low enough to be over minimum wage but no insurance
