How are the career development opportunities at The Goddard School?

My experience with the school allowed me to grow as an educator through functional classroom experience. I was able to apply prior knowledge while learning hands-on in the classroom. I want to emphasize that my experience was not all completely bad, but the children and their families were one of the only positive aspects of working at The Goddard School.

One of the biggest downsides of working at the school is compensation. There is also little room for growth opportunities. My experiences with staff and management at the Goddard School were not professional or normal, and until they change their conduct, staff, and policies, I urge you to stay clear of this place. There became a point where one of the teachers in the school was visibly intoxicated and frequently smelled of alcohol, which is a safety risk to children. Several employees informed management several times, but there was no change, and the teacher could still come into the school.

-great employer, up to date facilities, families and clientele are very committed and appreciative

-not enough PTO, needs better insurance, needs more opportunities for professional development

help mold young minds, discounted childcare for employees

low pay for all the responsibilities placed on the teachers, minimal growth opportunities

None at all. DO NOT WORK HERE!

Sue the owner fires whoever the f she wants. There is a lot of f favoritism there. No raises ever. No employee recognition ever. No promotions. No empathy at all. Super low hours all the time such the owner decides to lower whoever’s hours she wants to f lower. Discrimination!

- It’s common sense work. You don’t necessarily have to do hard tasks or think too deeply on what you’re doing. - You get to work with babies/small children all day. - If your personality meshes well with the other teachers in your class you’ll find yourself becoming very friendly and close with them as you’re with them all day. - It’s great experience for anyone wanting to make working with kids a career.

- It is a fast paced job environment. You need to be constantly aware of what’s going on and ready to take action. - The job does not pay well enough for most people. - Not much opportunities for advancement unless you have the proper schooling and credentials. - Stingy with hours. Clock in and clock out at the correct time. No opportunity for overtime - at least at my location. - Daycares are normally not very clean. And kids will get you sick - which sucks because if you are living paycheck to paycheck or don’t really have savings or someone to rely on that can put you in a bind as the company will not compensate you. - Management tries their best but they have so much on their plates so obviously things are going to be put on the back burner. - This is an overstimulating and most of the time stressful environment. - The school expects most students without knowing the child’s background. It’s all about money for most daycares. - No benefits, incentives, or bonuses really.

Can grow with company. Plenty room for advancement.

There are no cons. Great company to start off at.

Caring environment, supported, well pay, helps you move up your career ladder!

Building full of women, can get a little testy sometimes, but that’s a given and we ALWAYS work it out.
