Work life balance seems to be good in most lab roles. Hours are flexibly 8:30-4:30. Reasonable amounts of time to get work done and training is thorough. Good benefits (PTO, health insurance, etc.) offsets burden of mediocre pay.

Opportunities for growth (in terms of both responsibility and promotion, ergo pay increase) seem to be gatekept in more advanced lab roles. Unfortunately all roles are important, but not all roles are given equal levels of opportunity for growth.

No support. No guidance. A lot of "figure it out on your own". Management really needs to figure how to actually manage people. Lots of micromanagement if anything.
