What is the salary like at TAFE NSW?

Good pay, and some good teachers

From top management all the way down a bunch of bullies. Terrible workplace environment.

Great conditions, salary and leave entitlements (and great people)

Alot of governmental process that slows things down or gets in the way

There's great flexibility compared to the school system, you can work days or evenings and work from home.

Pay isn't great compared to teaching in other sectors.

Calm environment (unless your customer facing, whereas I was answering emails). Good for people who like to keep to themselves at work like myself because the team I was assigned to commuted to different TAFE campuses

Salary is quite good until you realise it's a package rate and includes super... so evens out to be just average I don't know if it's because TAFE is an educational institution but management treats TAFE workers as if they are students and they are the teachers... e.g. a lot of managers micro-manage you make it well known who their favourites are. Not many opportunities to move upwards but strangely plenty of opportunities to move horizontally.
