Absolute worst company I have ever worked for, upper management is super racist and the one black woman on upper management does not support the women of color and instead tells them they should've researched the company better if they do not want to deal with racism. The store directors are extremely unprofessional. This company is the absolute worst company to work for. They have cameras in the back room where employees change which is totally inappropriate. There is blatant racism in the work discord chats and upper management will just delete it. We are literally told we will not be able to move up or progress in the company. You don't get paid until 12-2pm on Fridays. You only get 1 sick hour per 43 hours mind you a week of full time is only 27 hours! They have stores operating with 1 tanner and 1 sugarista which doesn't allow for days off. How could I forget? If the clients are racist or men are inappropriate, they will just tell you to get over it bc they're paying clients. Such a joke! Just TERRIBLE!!!!! Do not work here! Save yourself!

chill work environment but that’s it

Poor work conditions, high school like drama, mean and predatory clients, horrible ceo, no growth allowance, just awful

-Weekly paychecks -Commission -Set schedule -Paid sick leave -Don't need to worry about building cliental -$30-$40/hr. during busy weeks -Complimentary services

-Mandatory extended hours (8am-12am) during holiday and festival weeks with no overtime pay unless you work more than 40 hours in that week. If you're only working a few shifts /week (8+ hours in those shifts), it doesn't count -Between cleaning the rooms between clients and spraying, it can have a physical impact on your body -Difficult to grow within the company. I've seen so many promises be made to coworkers within the company about moving up, to then find out the company outsourced -No raises. Income is based on minimum wage + gratuity (there's a "suggested" 18% gratuity added on to each service you do, but it's not guaranteed..clients can still change it. Your paycheck relies on your clients). -No holiday pay: Salon closes on major holidays, so if you work on the day of the holiday, they don't pay you. You'd have to pick up a shift to make up for the day/income lost -No PTO, difficult to get time off: I've worked here for almost two years and when their new time off policy came into effect, I started looking for a new job. It used to be that you had to put in a request 30 days in advance and it would normally be approved. As of 2024, you get 15 days of UNPAID vacation time. For it to be considered vacation time, you have to take 3-4 days off in a row. If you only need 1-2 days off, or 5+ more days off, the company doesn't deem it as vacation time (even though you get 15 days a year to use whenever lol), and you have to find coverage or call out (which leads to a write up if you don't have sick time accumulated.) I've worked in restaurants, offices, schools, etc. and I've never heard of such a policy -Senior management has been disrespectful to employees and store directors during salon visits -Culture can be very cliquey/gossipy/favortism -Company values clients over employees I used to enjoy working here. It's sad to see how the company has changed over the last year and a half.

Friendly coworkers and free services

EVERYTHING ELSE! It deeply saddens me that this company does NOT care about their employees. They lure you in with the promise that this is a "flexible" job that you can work as you go to school or pursue other passions but this is simply not true. The needs of the often evil clients always come first. I have been and have seen my coworkers be harassed over and over again by the same clients and the company refuses to do anything about it. I have felt unsafe with certain clients and have still had to service them. Time off is an actual joke. When I started at the company, the rules seemed fair. You could request time off at least 30 days in advance, and you would get it off. Anything under 30 days needed coverage. When a certain employee was hired on in the corporate office, everything changed. My coworkers and I often had to worry about missing funerals, weddings, birthdays- ALL TO GIVE SOMEONE A SPRAY TAN OR SUGAR THEIR PRIVATE PARTS! This is INSANE. The company uses a corrupt review system that bases our performances on the vague question "Would you recommended us to a friend?" and we are judged on parking, prices, whether the salon was "too cold"- all things out of a Spray Tan Tech or Sugarista's control but we were expected to get perfect ones anyway. Corporate management constantly gaslit me and pretended to care about me but it was very obvious that the only thing they care about is money. It's literally disgusting. They try to "push people out" that they don't like for petty, personal reasons and have lost a lot of great workers due to this. The CEO posts embarrassing TikToks about how you have to work on your birthday or you're a big baby as she sits in her multi million dollar mansion with a massage room and a steam room while her employees struggle to pay for rent getting paid minimum wage. It's literally gross.

Free services and friendly coworkers

The workplace culture is heavily influenced by nepotism and favoritism, with friends and family of management receiving preferential treatment regardless of performance. This created an unprofessional environment where hard work and dedication often go unnoticed. Leadership shows little regard for employee well-being or growth, and concerns are frequently dismissed. It's a frustrating place to work if you're looking for structure and a professional and supportive team culture.

I was new to the city and looking for friends and career development and this was just the spot to start fresh. Many people start here and end up elsewhere, but have dreams of more and a hustle mindset. It's very inspiring to be around and you get to hang with the girls all day in a sense while working in the beauty industry.

some customers are super needy and upper management can sometimes suck with time off, so be meticulous with your requests off and by that, i mean request off in advance with a plausible reason and be reliable at all times and it will be rewarded. if you are flaky, the requested time off, especially around the holidays, which is hard in a service industry like this, is not rewarded first to those who are notoriously not reliable. this is not a con, tbh, it's reality that a lot of young women learn the hard way in their young twenties.

Great colleagues, mandatory gratuity on services, fairly easy to get extra shifts if you need to make extra money.

Estheticians and Sprayers are 100% accountable for client reviews on NPS scores even if customers satisfaction is tied to things completely out of their control such as broken tiles on tanning room floors or chipped paint in treatment rooms. Some clients are completely rude and disrespectful and staff are expected to grin and bear it. Leadership does not advocate for us they threaten our jobs regularly should we not meet NPS expectations even if client comments have nothing to do with the service provided whatsoever .
