Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We truly value that this is a great opportunity for those looking to further education by going to Medical School/PA School/etc. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work.

Thanks for taking the time to review. We are very happy to hear you are enjoying the flexibility that being a medical scribe can offer! We are very happy to see that you are taking the opportunity to network and gain exposure for yourself in your medical facility. We feel that this is the pinnacle opportunity for our employees to really grow and prepare themselves when they go to Medical School/PA School/etc.

      Mileage Will Certainly Vary

      Medical scribe
      Former employee
      Tacoma, WA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Access to clinical hours with no certifications and with flexible hours.

      Cons

Training may be insufficent for the workload you are required to take up. The job is ultimately dooable but I would recommend thinking critically about how this job will fit into your other responsibilities. Shifts often went one to three hours over and the mental drain from working in an emergency department can be much different (and greater) than working in a different setting (e.g. family practice). It is also shift work in the emergency department, so sleep quality inevitably took a hit.

Depending on the area you work in, we always recommend working with your direct supervisor to determine if you are able to be cross-trained in a different specialty of medicine, or at another facility.
