Pros
Good flexibility and decent pay for the job.
Cons
Not enough hours and sometimes tedious
Pros
Flexibility within guidelines. No micromanaging. Good for independent, self sufficient people
Cons
Feels like there's a lot of secrecy and dishonesty starting with the hiring process. Freedom to work your own hours isn't quite true. There are plenty of requirements and stipulations that affect when and where you need to be. This company isn't worth the frustration of rearranging your life to accommodate their wildly varying demands week to week. Usually too few hours for a primary job. Inconvenient time intensive special projects are assigned without warning or discussion. Minimal training accomplished through videos, not always relevant or thorough. Constant tech issues add frustration to the workload. No performance reviews for FSRs, therefore no wage increase. FSRs are somehow terribly crucial, yet treated like they're disposable.
Pros
Work on your own no one over your shoulder
Cons
Pay is average hours only because you cant really chose when you work No sick time or recovery time No time off for emergency situations like a family member in hospital for more than a few days
Pros
- Flexibility but not as advertised
Cons
-Hourly pay too low. Especially for New Jersey -Core stores provide under 10 hours a week of work. Within a month you will get more efficient and basically cut your pay in half. As a solution, I would pick up stores not currently covered for extra pay and to help the team as is requested by management. HERE IS THE ISSUE - I would visit a CVS that would take under thirty minutes to scan. So i'm paid under $8 (Based on $16 hrly pay). Minus tolls and gas the visit would yield between $3 and $4. I explained to my manager why the visit isn't worth it and I suggested ScanScape provide a solution, for example a minimum amount paid per visit to help coverage of stores. The manager could care less and seemed annoyed at the feedback. -ScanScape deducts first 15 minutes of travel. I understand that some take advantage but ScanScape has many stores not covered each week and needs reps to cover these stores. If you want reps to drive around New Jersey covering stores why deduct up to 30 minutes of drive time? Reps are not driving to a single location to work but sometimes to several locations. Why not compensate mileage appropriately? -Special Collection Tasks - Most people applying for this job are looking for flexibility and often have more than one job. Some weeks you will just have your basic collections and others you will be scanning additional items (ie snacks, soda) requiring additional days and hours. Where this is a plus for earning additional income, the inconsistency of the special collections, make managing other jobs challenging. Not something I would know until I started working. They also don't mention your pay will be decreased by up to 50% as you gain experience (First Walmart scan took 3 hours. After two weeks it took me ninety minutes. -You will continue to be asked to do more and not get much in return. As the special collections become more involved you realize the pay with zero benefits isn't worth it. You can do better elsewhere. -Lastly and probably the most significant issue is for ScanScape's customers purchasing the information. When I started, I heard from other field reps that said they don't pay much attention to the accuracy of the collection. During training you are taught to count with your eyes but it seems, especially during busy special collection weeks, that getting through the stores is paramount rather than the accuracy of the data. I don't agree with those practices but I do see it as employees not happy with ScanScape. Conclusion - This job may be competitive in other parts of the country but certainly not in New Jersey.
Pros
Very tedious and physically demanding.
Cons
Not enough pay for the amount of work.
Pros
Pay was good Hours were flexible
Cons
Very boring and repetitive Top boss not honest
Pros
Flexible hours and working independently. Basic tasks are easy to learn. I made a fair wage and liked the extra pocket change.
Cons
Tedious, repetitive and sometimes unpredictable. Hours can drastically vary week to week, without any real warning. Zero in-person training. Navigating the app during special projects is confusing.
Pros
Flexible Schedule. Start working anytime.
Cons
Lazy Manager. Lazy Training, No Training, Low Pay, No Mileage reimbursement. Use Own Phone. All around horrible job
Pros
Getting paid, flexible schedule, drive time
Cons
Low pay, overbearing management, wear and tear on car.
Pros
- Flexibility but not as advertised
