      Pros

Benefits, work from home flexibility, part of management

      Cons

Not reliable at all, not even starting yet the collaboration and I was informed that I had to end it because I was the newest and there are some sort of internal "restructuring" changements. Even if I received a perfect feedback based on my work. And they claim that they are people oriented. Also, it was very hard to obtain any kind of information, especially from HR, some persons didn't even responded at all, they didn't even prepared the offboarding process. What a shame to be such a big company with such a little character regarding the people that last in it !

Good company to join to get your foot in the industry but not good for long term wellbeing

      Engineer
      Former employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

SLB has a world-class training program for their engineers in which you get to travel internationally. The training is rigorous and hands-on. Great gateway company for entering the oil and gas industry. Flexible work from home policy if you work in the office. SLB has a very international workforce and you will meet people from all around the world.

      Cons

As an engineer SLB expects you to be working all the time even on the weekends and to be on call 24/7. High turnover rate for managers, engineers and field crew which means the rest of the team has to take on additional responsibilities without a salary increase. Although SLB pays overtime, it's not worth the effort nor the stress and workaholic culture often takes a toll on family life and health from what I have seen and experienced. The shifts you are assigned in the field as an entry level engineer vary widely and frequently and will take a toll on your body. For the engineering program they pull you out of the field after about a year and put you in the office where you will have to deal with office politics.

      Pros

      • Great exposure to real corporate and technical work. • Opportunity to handle executive-level tasks. • Direct experience with engineers and offshore operations. • Strong place to understand the oil & gas environment. • A few seniors were genuinely helpful and supportive. • Good allowance, RM1200 with monthly RM50 medical benefits.

      Cons

      • Very high pressure and expectations for interns. • Some team members have strict, outdated work styles. • Interns often feel excluded from team activities. • Feedback can be harsh and discouraging. • Limited focus on mental well‑being and intern development. • Limited vacancies for non-technical positions, reducing conversion opportunities. - Team didnt allow work from home while company promoted this flexibility.
