Pros
- Work from Home (If that’s your vibe) - The new underlings are cool, until they assimilate. You can spot them by the brown on their noses. - You don’t have to worry about designing anything or making any decisions, because your boss or the director will do that for you. - Copy and Paste designs, easy work! (A lot… but easy!) - Free instant coffee in the canteen. - Some of your overtime is Paid for, yay… but then it’s also capped, boo. (Sometimes you don’t make the minimum needed to be paid for any overtime lol) - No more boring nights and weekends without work to do, SAOTA has you covered. - International Projects without any need to do technical stuff, so fun, but makes finding your new job in South Africa quite tricky. - You play the important role of cog in the machine. - You get 3 burnout leave days a year that they’ve branded as “special leave”.
Cons
- Salaries aren’t competitive. - Salary growth is extremely slow. (We see the client invoices in USD…) - A promotion to any position above production could take more than a handful of years, if you make it that long. - Absolutely no autonomy, don’t you even dare think. - The design phase is all set systems and process based, no space for originality.
