Recent graduates please careful & beware of this scam of a company. They will tell you they offer the best benefits and great pay and come across as a great corporate job but really they are a MLM with a small base salary. Management and "leaders" treat their employees with little respect and will ridicule if you do not hit KPIs. I strongly advise to look else where so you do not waste your time. Really look into what recruitment sales is before signing your life away. 0 work life balance.

I started at Oscar in 2022 as someone with only 6 months prior recruitment knowledge. When I was offered the role to join Oscar, I knew what would be expected of me. They're well known brand across Tech Recruitment and their standards have always been set high. It was known that if you had a career at Oscar, that you wouldn't struggle to find work else where in the future as you are taught to be the best, from the best. I had a rough start to my career when it came to BD, but I came into work each day and give 110%, yes the core hours are between 8:30-5:30. But if you want to succeed in this job you have to be willing to put in the time, whether thats coming in early/staying late. Taking calls on your way home, at the end of the day this could be the difference between your base rate, and £££ in commission. I was fortunate enough to be given a different role after 6 months in the business to focus purely on Candidate Development, this was the best decision I and the company could of made for me. Since then Ive received 3 promotions, been on countless Achievers Meals to some of the best restaurant's in Manchester, and went on a all expenses trip to Monaco earlier this year. I got into recruitment with the same goals as most people, but the main one for me was to pay off my debt I accrued from university. Ive done this and for the first time since I was 18, I'm finally debt free. I have also managed to save £££ to afford my trip travelling across the world which is the reason I'm leaving the business. The company has really good core values, and these have not changed over the 3 years ive been in the business, work hard and be rewarded (this is the same as any other recruitment company you go). Oscar has the resources to really develop your career, if you really want to succeed, earn money, and make friends for life then this is the place to be.

5 days a week in the office - some people may see this as a con but to me, this isn't as I actually like coming into the office and being around other consultants, especially when people do deals, it creates a really good atmosphere. Ive had flexibility to attend doctors appointments etc and they're accommodating of this.

- By far the best commission structure in the game. I've spoken to many other firms and competitors and have tons of connections in the industry, and I've concluded that Oscar's commission structure is top tier compared to other British firms. - You are treated like an adult. I started with Oscar a few years ago and at the time, I had a great manager who would go above and beyond for me and do anything to help me be successful. If you are working under a great manager, and you are showing the right behaviors and are working hard, you will see success and you have nothing to worry about. One of the biggest pros for me was that I was told from day 1 that this is essentially my own business.... Oscar just gives you the tools needed and a base salary to live on. If you need handholding or someone to make sure you are hitting your daily targets, Oscar is not the place for you. - The Learning & Development team is great. They are available any time you need anything/extra training and are a great resource for tenured employees, experienced hires, and new hires/rookies. The L&D team is not responsible for your success; however, they give you the tools and insights needed, but the rest is completely up to you. Do not blame the L&D team for your lack of success. If you have the drive and motivation to make good money and have a great work ethic, you will be successful at Oscar.

I worked at Oscar for a few years, and I have quite literally seen and heard it all. I've read through many recent reviews and from my standpoint, my only con would be the bad apples who joined the business years ago and have stuck around FAR too long. No matter how many times people report them or raise a concern about inappropriate behavior/comments/management style, nothing happens as long as they are a top biller and bringing in tons of money to the business. This is a double-edged sword because if you have great billings and are hitting your monthly targets, you are near invincible. I couldn't disagree more with the reviews I've seen that says Oscar is a pyramid scheme (that's the reality of working at any recruitment firm, start up on your own if you want 100% of the commission and want to pay for your own tools!) and that you have to lie and be sleezy to both candidates and clients to do deals. In my tenure at Oscar, I never lied to my candidates or clients for the sake of boarding a deal and I never felt pressured by leadership to do so. If you felt like you had to work that way, you likely had a very unethical manager who didn't belong in management, which circles back to my comments above.

Horrible base pay. Horrible training (for the SD office at least) If your number aren’t good (even in the first few weeks) your basically done and should started looking at other jobs. They might even get rid of you first. Not sure how the other Oscar offices function but if you’re in SD…. Run

I've been with Oscar for several years and during that time I have achieved more than I could ever have expected. Yes recruitment is tough, yes it is a sales environment, no this is not for the faint-hearted, but it is ultimately somewhere you can make a hell of a lot of money and grow both personally and professionally IF you are willing to work hard. There has been some changes, naturally due to the economy and as with any sales business people only succeed if they give it 100%. But I have seen a LOT of people succeed during my time. The successful consultants have achieved multiple goals here and people on my team have been promoted within 12 months due to their determination. You are rewarded for hard work and always recognised for over-achieving.

As with any recruitment or sales role, you won't succeed or find happiness at the company if you can't commit to giving it 100%.
