Pros
I've been here for almost four years now, coming up to a year of that time in my new role. I have loved my time at Kier so far for so many different reasons, and could not recommend it highly enough as a place to work.
Progression & developmental support is fantastic - I joined here as an apprentice, and almost four years on, I'm here doing another course to upskill for my new role. Throughout my time here I've had plenty of opportunities to learn and gain new skills, which has been helped by working with other people who have also had those same opportunities.
My wellbeing is constantly supported - I've been through some real personal challenges in the past year, and not once have I ever felt alone or had a lack of support from work. My two managers during that time have been incredible, both offering support through simply just talking, or reminding me of the resources available.
The work we do - I've been fortunate enough to visit plenty of our sites and projects during my time here and am quite simply in disbelief every time at just how amazing they are. We do some incredible and really exciting work at Kier and I'm so privileged to be able to get out to our sites and see it.
All in all, Kier is a genuinely caring, supportive, and just fantastic employer.
Cons
I've had my challenges with IT and this tends to be a tricky one to navigate. There are things in my role that are affected by IT, but I appreciate that guidance and rules are very much there for a reason. However, the team are very collaborative and are looking into how they can support us working through said challenges.
Aside from that though, I honestly cannot think of anything else to add.
