Festival State Foods is a company that prays on young people. it’s belittles and mistreats staff and create a toxic environment. Throughout my time at kfc, I was denied 10 minutes paid breaks as a team member. Followed by being denied 10 minutes paid breaks and 30 minute unpaid breaks as a manager. I worked in a management role for over 2 years and never received one break. I was completely overworked and miserable. You were expected to complete all admin task within 3 hours on a monday or tuesday because the company was too stingy to pay extra labour. Not to mention, has uses age discriminatory practices. When hiring new team members, we were expected to look at two things… age and availability. 16 was too old. When creating rosters, we had to ensure our averaged rate was under $x which meant rostering younger staff on to counteract the older staff on during day shift. Too stingy to pay a measly extra $1 on weekends to have good staff who were 16/17 because 14 year olds are cheaper. Too stingy to pay overtime, because it’s “expensive”… yet i work in a non-profit organisations and i’m in overtime everyday, and they are more than happy to pay it. On top of that, verbal abuse was a regular part of the job from above I was frequently sworn at and belittled by above store leaders, creating a toxic and mentally draining environment. The store was constantly understaffed, leaving those on shift scrambling to cover multiple roles while still being expected to meet unrealistic demands. The pressure was relentless, the support was non-existent, and the overall treatment of staff showed a clear disregard for basic human rights and wellbeing. Whilst the franchisee didn’t lift a finger, but would work his staff like dogs.

      Um yeah
