they pay you well in exchange for your happiness, independence and soul. don't fall for it its all lies and a facade.
Pros
good retirement benefits such as Roth IRA contributions and early hours if that is your thing. 1 to 1 scheduling in outpatient PT clinic only 9 patients max. rich old patients mostly. throws hospital parties and gives out gift cards for thanksgiving.good insurance coverage. gives $96 for purchasing work clothing. you get opportunity to attend free concerts hosted by the company. $5 Starbucks gift card if you get recognized by a patient or attend a free breakfast. okay discounts on local entertainment vendors in the area.
Cons
company is run mostly by temporarily contracted travel therapists and nurses so healthcare wait times are long. I waited 8 hours to treat a plain stomach virus. not ideal. in the outpatient PT clinic when travelers leave their patients now get shoved into the already full full time employees caseload which is not optimal care. rich patients or self pay $150/hr patients get priority and 24/7 and 365 patients must be treated like a concierge service which means there is no autonomy or opportunity here as a healthcare professional to say NO when it comes to scheduling. you are not allowed to schedule your patients the way you want to. double standards in terms of full time scheduling. there is only 5 full time PT staff and 2 full time PTAs. one of the full timers works anywhere from 1-5x/week but, because of seniority he gets away with it despite the you can only have 1-2 consecutive days off during the busy snowbird season company policy but, the rule does not apply to him. the boss sees only 3 patients a day. the rest are fully booked at 9 patients. evals are constantly being done but, will be scheduled 4 weeks out later. some patients that are supposed to be 1x/week is basically scheduled 1x/month accordingly. not enough beds available for treatment. 15 therapists working all the same hours 8-4:30 pm with only 12 beds available in a small one room clinic. the aide does not clean beds fast enough. one front desk staff member is rude and they don't assist with calling patients for the busy therapists. newly appointed female boss is micromanagement central. last time I checked I came here to work not be told to clock out early if a patient no shows, don't wear a certain color sneaker, sweater or t-shirt without the EDOC logo rather than rehab medicine logo. every minute of the day must be kept busy. last minute schedule changes are normal including walk in evals. half day Fridays is no longer a thing but was pitched as part of the interview process. hourly pay not salary pay. you will be marked late if you clock in 6 minutes late. they do not care if you have a medical letter stating why you have a hard time arriving early. no late hours for patients that work.
