What is the retirement plan like at Cleveland-Cliffs?

Continuing layers of corporate red tape, salaried benefits decreased significantly over course of employment.

Decent pay and good benefits, including matching 401K, pension, profit sharing, quarterly site bonuses (OPIP) and health, vision and dental care.

Just like any work environment, it has it's pettiness. Management will attempt to do, or say, one thing then not follow through.

Lower level management is a joke. If you want to be a number. This is the place to work. Upper management seems better but are blind and don’t come around.

It was an okay place to learn. I stayed longer than I should have. Fortunately, I already had a lot of applications out before the layoff announcement.

Compensation and work life in general was an ever increasing spiral over the 12 years I was they. They cut every benefit they could; Healthcare, vacation, comp time, 401k matches, bonuses, scrap tickets. The site I was at was 20-30% under paid compared to positions at other sites. Now that I work some where else, I ask my self why in the hell did I stay so long.

•Hard schedule depending on department •Job openings are based on seniority not a merit based system •New hires are often legacy hires which is mandatory per the labor agreement, so lots of young entitled employees.
