      Pros

The people were really nice. I enjoyed engaging with my co-workers in the office. I learned a lot from the teams I was on and just people I met in the office. I liked that there were opportunities to gain professional experiences as a junior consultant even in non-billable roles. Lots of resources for upskilling and in person learning events.

      Cons

There is not much notice when laid off, the employment is terminated same day. Company has not been great with making junior consultants billable even if they are performing well.

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience at Capgemini. Your advice to management has been captured and will be shared with the appropriate teams. Pros

No positive aspects from my experience.

      Cons

My experience with this company was disappointing. The work environment lacked transparency, especially regarding job security and employee communication. Employees were terminated without clear reasons or prior discussion, which created a stressful and uncertain atmosphere .Management did not provide sufficient support.

      Pros

Some of the best employees I have worked with in my career.

      Cons

Company initiated a plan called unleashed, which is a code name for a Reduction In Force. Many outstanding employees were given notice with out warning who were not performances issues. Severance policy is the lowest in the IT Outsourcing industry. All communication goes through a email box vs. a person. After being out on the job market, I realized I had fallen way behind my peer group in the market from a compensation point of view. Hard to give a great review overall!

Limited Role Transition Opportunities - Lots of politics, but good brand equity for a stepping stone

      Senior consultant
      Former employee
      Houston, TX

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Large organization with options to travel, and good brand equity to be considered for future roles at other IT consultancies.

      Cons

Large orgs come with internal politics. I tried advocating for years the area of Capgemini I wanted to transition into but had a lot of trouble leaving the practice I was hired into. Given it's a large org, myself and many others also got pigeonholed into a specific niche role that wasn't very transferrable--if you ended up wanting to help with business development or a PM capacity, it was my experience that it was hard to even get in the room or be considered if you didn't have 6+ years of experience. Ended up getting laid off and only given 1 month of severance despite 4 years of service. No budges even after trying to discuss about it. Ironically helped put together a proposal that took months in the making, got laid off when there was no immediate projects in the pipeline for me, then the large deal I drove got sold a month after I was gone. Seems like there was a disconnect or gap in information with higher leadership on what contributions I was making and felt like I ended up just being another number rather than fostering my growth.

      Pros

      - Work life balance - sponsoring Certifications - Paid PTO's - but depends on the grades within the company - Provides various online learning platforms to brush up the skills and learn new technologies - if you are laid off and the performance is good, they give severance. - benefits and everything is good. - had a good time working for this company.

      Cons

      - lay off without prior notice. - When there's a freezing period(nov-jan) there will be no projects available, while on this time if you are on bench they try to push you in any project that is available regardless of the experience you have, they train us for the position in a very less time and wants us to perform well, then client wont be satisfying with our performance and rest is termination... - they call you directly and say you are laid off. - the structure of the management is not good, your supervisor, manager, performance reviewer all will be playing diff roles. - they take all our documents and say our H1 is registered, but not sure if it is really registered or not - no hike for 2 years since join date. - even when the client is okay to work from home, the management forces you to go to the office.

Don't even deserve a 1 star - Avoid working for Capgemini at all costs

      Pros

none at all - they just want to bill you out for a day rate - AVOID THIS COMPANY as your chances of getting terminated within 2 years is very high.

      Cons

No human empathy - 1 year 8 months into the role and terminated 'immediately' due to no roles. - The 2 year termination policy is disgraceful - all individuals should be aware that Capgemini can immediately terminate your role as a permanent resource without notice - AVOID THIS COMPANY. This is shameful practice and badly reflected on Capgemini as I've now come to hear about others who have been through the same process. - There is no empathy or appreciation of resources working in remote locations - AVOID WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - I will 100% never recommend Capgemini or any of it's entities to work for with my professional network.

      Cons

There is big gap in compensation at capgemini kolkata compare to other state in India. Work load is huge but compensation will not at all match with other states in India. No cabs facility for mens. Annoying management policies without any official notice or documentation.

      Pros

      1. You'll get firsthand experience in how corporate "restructuring" and "resource optimization" actually work - since terminations are handled so frequently, you'll learn what not to expect from HR. 2. You get to experience every kind of corporate politics possible - favoritism, bias, and mismanagement all in one place. 3. Plenty of free time on bench - but not by choice. You'll learn patience while waiting for endlessly for a project that never comes. 4. Great place to learn how to survive without proper communication, clarity, or support from HR. 5. Great place to improve your resilience - surviving constant fear of termination makes you mentally stronger. 6. You'll master the art of multitasking - working like a machine in projects with zero breaks, and being told to "upskill" in your free time. 7. You'll develop adaptability - since your skill set can be changed overnight to match a project requirement, even if it's outside your domain. 8. You'll even learn the importance of "brand image" - by being asked to post positive Glassdoor reviews before you've even joined.

      Cons

      1. Sudden terminations and forced resignations are common, often without prior notice or valid reason. 2. Zero job security - people are asked to resign suddenly without explanation. 3. Unethical handling of employees during exit - no proper discussion, no transparency, and sometimes pressure to resign. 4. Creates a stressful, fearful environment - no one knows who's next on the list. 5. Even employees who relocate or wait for projects are terminated instead of being supported. 6. Unrealistic workload in projects - employees are treated like machines, expected to work nonstop without personal time or flexibility. 7. Study portals given for "learning", but employees barely get time to use them dure to excessive workload. 8. Forced skill changes - employees are made to switch technologies constantly as per project demands, and even when interview go fine, HR labels them as "not upskilling" to push blame back on employees. 9. Negative feedback is used as an excuse to delay allocation or remove employees. 10. Management focusses more on numbers than people. Employee well-being is just a slogan, not a practice. 11. HR and leadership play blame games instead of solving problems. 12. Poor project allocation process - deserving employees remain on bench while "favorites" get opportunities. 13. Unfair appraisals - no transparency in ratings or feedback. 14. Toxic work culture in many teams; employees are overworked but under-recognized. 15. Extremely low hikes compared to the market. 16. No respect for work-life balance - long hours, unrealistic expectations, and zero appreciation. 17. New joiners and even bench employees are pressured to post fake positive reviews on Glassdoor before joining or release - manipulating the company's public image.

Strange onboarding, dubious mid-managers, and too many irregularities

      Technical lead
      Former employee
      Madrid
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The company paid regularly on time until the moment they terminated the contract without prior notice. Once I lost access to corporate systems, the company withheld the final payment they owed me for nearly 15 days, coercing me into writing humiliating ‘debt collection’ emails to the administrative personnel, simply asking for the money I was owed as unpaid salary, but which was too small an amount to demand in court. This is still the least negative aspect, as I was finally paid in full for my service, and I considered the salary was competitive enough to sign the contract in the first place.

      Cons

An overly negative employee experience. I was offered a contract for a non-management position after a strangely superficial, lax selection process involving a screening with a junior HR employee and a separate, brief videoconference with three employees. I accepted the offer after one of the three non-HR people called me and convinced me to take the position as their reportee. On the second day at the company, after being introduced to the person I was expected to report to, whom I liked, I was assigned a new supervisor who wasn’t competent in the job and had a dubious professional track record, both within the company and in their known previous activity as a contractor and alleged entrepreneur. Since that moment, I became almost invisible as an employee: the manager was systematically absent from meetings and most basic management duties concerning my job; I didn’t have a formal role defined in the corporate directory, just a default string supplied by HR based on the offer letter; nobody ever initiated my record in the employee performance management system; my employee record remained completely blank for three months, and I never received any information about the performance review process or goals; nobody ever shared with me or invited me to a meeting where meaningful KPIs about the business, such as department- or country-level revenue figures, project signings, or employee utilization metrics, were disclosed. Nevertheless, I managed to work on a few assignments, as I always tried to express a willingness to work and contribute to the business whenever I was given the opportunity to meet with peer employees. However, I was denied the option to record in the timesheet system any of the hours I worked on different projects. One of the assignments was clearly a ‘phantom project’ that never had any meaningful direction or objectives, and it was easy to infer that the position I was filling was being used as a ‘scapegoat’ to terminate it. In the rare assignments that involved customer interaction, I never got to see a real contract or had any means to record my activity. After three months in the job, my contract was terminated unilaterally without prior notice, exactly one day after the first time I spoke up, during my time off, in an email addressed to a senior management employee, about one of the many irregularities I had observed.
