The work load is minimal most of the time, if you enjoy outdoor hobbies you will love it. Great discount, cool "50s" vibes lol, you learn a lot and the customers are generally pleasant.

Dress code, not really great pay, and if you don't like physical labor avoid the sporting goods department. I enjoyed it but there is a lot of heavy lifting including freight.

The job stability is very good. There is no micromanaging. Coworkers were very friendly and helpful. Got decent raises every year. They have an ESOP.

Codebase is written using old languages that are no longer industry-standard. Likewise with tooling, including version control. Ticketing is an in-house solution and not used effectively. Inflexible towards remote work. PTO is not great. Salary isn't competitive. No 401k match.
