Pros
We're changing the infrastructure of an industry and several veterans in this industry are confident we're doing it well - I'm really proud of that. That's cool, but often messy. We get it wrong sometimes. Others have said we make bad bets, but they fail to mention we make some great ones too - we're a start-up, and we learn and iterate fast.
The people who succeed here are nimble and optimistic, looking for solutions. Comp is great. Equity feels fair. Benefits are the best I've ever gotten. Founders are ethical and transparent. During covid, the back to office plan consisted of asking us if we wanted to come back and when we said nope, they didn't require it.
Every manager is different, but with mine, I've significantly developed in my career both because they provided a fair and honest feedback loop and because I asked for more responsibility and advancement.
Cons
There are a few leadership blind spots to weak talent at the highest level. If you want the troops to care as much as you do, focus on giving us the most inspiring, competent, capable leaders.
