What is health insurance like at Aya Healthcare?

Paid health insurance isn't great, no day 1 401k, pay is so-so for a large company, it's so large that you have multiple contacts for different departments which means tons of communications, no Health Savings Account

I’ve worked at Aya for nearly 5 years and have had steady growth and what I think is fair compensation. The two biggest reasons I love my job are my teammates and the benefits Aya offers. My team: I love my department so much and feel supported both professionally and personally. My manager and our VP truly care about our well-being and treat us with compassion and respect. While making good quality work that furthers our mission is the ultimate goal, our health and happiness is always a priority. Benefits: Aya offers fun perks like office parties and celebratory gifts, we get unlimited DTO (I have never had a problem getting time off approved/my teammates are always willing to help cover me), and one of the best benefits to me is the free health insurance. I read some reviews about people saying our insurance got worse after switching to Anthem, but aside from a slight increase in copays, I have personally experienced better coverage than I did with Aetna, and due to a multitude of health issues, I have used my coverage to its full effect. Overall, I think the company does truly care about its employees. At the end of the day, the market has changed and they have had to adjust, but I think they are doing the best they can to prioritize employee happiness/wellbeing while still hitting business goals.

I know the insane growth that came during Covid meant having to cut back staff once the market dropped. I think the company could have gone about the voluntary departures and layoffs a bit differently, but I’m glad they addressed this during our recent town hall, and I understand the reasoning of why it was done.

I initially joined Aya Healthcare with high hopes and enthusiasm. It was a good company to work for, providing a supportive environment, excellent benefits, and a strong sense of community. Unfortunately, recent events have drastically changed my perspective. In the past few months, Aya Healthcare has conducted what can only be described as shady "quiet" layoffs. Despite clear evidence that these are layoffs, we are forbidden from using that term. Instead, we are being forced to accept severance packages under the guise of voluntary separation. This lack of transparency and honesty is deeply disappointing and has eroded the trust I once had in the company. The way these layoffs have been handled feels underhanded and deceitful. Employees are left feeling undervalued and expendable, with little to no communication or support during this unsettling time. The company's leadership seems more focused on preserving its public image than addressing the real concerns and well-being of its employees. What was once a great place to work has now become an environment of uncertainty and distrust. I hope Aya Healthcare reevaluates its approach and begins to prioritize genuine transparency and care for its employees.

They used to have great healthcare benefits, pto, and culture.

They are extremely cutthroat now due to budget cuts, they did a lot of quiet layoffs instead of being transparent about the market slowing down post COVID and not being able to retain all the employees they hired.

Aya has a ton of contacts available which is a big plus. I have had a great recruiter to help me figure out my next steps with contracts and helped facilitate things for me. Communication with them is pretty easy and I usually get responses back quickly.

The biggest downfall of the company is benefits. They offer health insurance but you cant take more than 21 days off inbetween contracts in order to maintain the benefits. I had plans to get pregnant this year and was not able to sign up for there benefits because I would lose health insurance during my leave. That being said, there is no time limit of time off between contracts to maintain employment status which is nice.

Great pay and bonuses, awesome health benefits and unlimited PTO.

Micromanaging on a whole other level even with high performance and great numbers. A high amount of unnecessary meetings that could really be done via email or consolidated to a smaller amount of meetings. They promote work life balance but when it’s time to take time off or if you have a death in the family they are more worried about who’s covering while you will be out than how you are doing.

Overhired during Covid and now employees are having to be laid off. Since it is such a big company it is hard to get up to a higher position naturally
