What is the hiring process like at Alo Yoga?

      Alo Yoga reviews

HQ is clueless and really toxic leadership

      Asistant manager
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The wardrobe was amazing and the team was great.

      Cons

The HQ team has excellent communication skills but they don’t know what’s going on, they don’t have room for feedback and if you communicate any kind of feedback they are pretty defensive and take it as you are a negative person. And the district team has so much opportunity, specifically when it comes to hiring process and they would promote a really toxic environment.

      Seasonal Associate

      Seasonal associate
      Former employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Friendly colleagues and good work benefits and discount.

      Cons

Lack of transparency in continuing hiring process.

      Bad pay, bad management

      Operations associate
      Former employee
      San Jose, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

50% discount on all purchases, wardrobe pieces every quarter

      Cons

Terrible management, ethics, and work life balance. Was constantly over scheduled and expected to have full availability for a part time job. Constantly adding more responsibilities to the role while not increasing pay. Paid seasoned workers with experience significantly less than new hires with zero experience

      3

Great company and continues to grow

      Visual manager
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

From the beginning of my interview process the recruiter all the way to the head of visual merchandiser, they made me feel welcome. The DM took the time to take me to coffee and get to know me. I decided to be part of Alo because they are growing and there will be so much opportunity.

      Cons

Maybe I'm still so new and happy that I don't have any complaints.

      Honolulu Ala Moana

      Ops associate
      Former employee
      Honolulu, HI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Coworkers were willing to help and train.

      Cons

Management known for talking negatively about associates WITH other associates. There was no set rule given when it came to taking vacation and getting wardrobe. Some were told 6 weeks, some were told 4 weeks. Management would tell us that there was a new rule about dress code; but when looking it up in the handbook, it wasn't stated. You're expected to stay past your shift to help close or to help in the store but if a manager's shift ends at 8:00pm, they're out the door before 8:01. If you do decide to leave at your scheduled time, management will make comments about you to other associates once you leave. Most people work full time jobs plus a part time, so leaving at the scheduled time is important to get rest and recover. For most of management, this is their only job. The lack of empathy for people who work multiple jobs is insulting but their pride outweighs their willingness to compromise and keep an employee. Lack of accountability and close mindedness is their Achilles.
