Expectations too high, flare rate pay too low
Pros
The flat rate number itself here is good they will pay up to $50 per hour for experienced techs with ASE certificates. Shops are nice and clean with ok equipment.
Cons
The labor rate is so high for the customers it’s hard to get work sold and compete with other shops in the area. Management is very overbearing and you will get written up for any small mishap or mistake. As a tech you are expected to do an unpaid digital inspection on every car which takes at least 40 minutes. It includes pulling all wheels and tons of small stuff they want you to do for 0 labor to the tech. I’m a master tech and here it takes me about an hour to do their digital inspection and an oil change, only to get paid .2 hours for all of that. That 12 minutes for a hours worth of work. Most of the work here is small services since the labor rate is so high. Flate rate times for jobs are much lower here than other shops.
