Pros

People: - The company really cares about the people that work for Flywire, and you can see it every day. - Every new joiner needs to fit in the culture of the company, it’s one of the “skills” that needs to be ticked in the interview process, which creates a company of people that are awesome, humble, nice, transparent and that aim to improve and to help each other constantly. Salary: - No need to ask for a salary increase to get one. In my experience you are rewarded if you deserve it, even during pandemic times. Product & Engineering: - Close relationship with the eng team during the product discovery. - Continuous delivery into production, with releases several times per day. - Lean discovery and development process. - Absolutely great internal stakeholders.

Cons

Product and engineering: - Flywire is a historically sales driven company that is trying to move to an hybrid model of product plus sales, but still on it. - On important initiatives you are going to see kind of micromanagement and decisions taken by people that shouldn’t. Part of the product manager role in these cases is fighting against these situations to ensure that the decisions are taken based on data and evidences and not by gut or because “this other company has that”.
