Pros

1. The people you work with on the local marketing team are great! 2. You learn a lot about implementing different marketing tactics, website maintenance, budgeting and data. 3. You learn a lot about franchising systems and marketing for a national brand. 4. Almost exclusively virtual so working from home full time is an option. 5. You will learn a lot about yourself professionally and the limits you're willing to push yourself to for a job.

Cons

1. Franchise owners are angry with the home office and aren't receptive to the marketing department. General distaste toward Neighborly initiatives, which you will be expected to push on your franchise owners. This makes achieving goals difficult and overly stressful. 2. Insurmountable workload - the local marketing team are the workhorses for the marketing department. It's not unordinary to have multiple major projects going at the same time, all due within two weeks and to still be expected to maintain daily job requirements and keep franchise owners happy. Also not uncommon for employees to take PTO days to get caught up because there is too much to do. 3. Neighborly leadership doesn't value their employees. I worked there for 2 years in a key, senior level position and not one person from Neighborly leadership reached out to me when I submitted my resignation even though I gave them a month's notice. 4. You will spend a lot more time reporting and justifying local marketing than you will spend on actual marketing and advertising strategy. 5. Neighborly is is understaffed so even though there are systems in place that should streamline processes, everyone is so overwhelmed that nothing gets done on time. Can't rely on systems to serve you, constant follow-up required. 6. Pay is not competitive. Salaries in the marketing department are paid out of a fund franchise owners pay in to, so the pay ceiling is very low. If you want to make money in this company, stay away from the marketing department. 7. You will get stuck in the local marketing specialist role. I tried to apply to 2 different positions within Neighborly but was discouraged from doing so because I had made myself too valuable in my current position and they knew they would struggle to find someone to replace me.

Pros

The pace is fast, but the teams are competent enough to keep up with it. You're moving quickly alongside smart people, not scrambling to keep things together. Leadership is excellent and clearly sets the tone for how the broader organization operates. The culture stands out. People are kind and engaged in a way that feels real, not performative. The brands in the portfolio are strong, which makes the work easy to get behind. Comp is competitive and the operational infrastructure is already there. For anyone who wants to move fast and actually get things done, it's a great environment.

Cons

As with any growing company, some systems are still being built out and aren't fully functional yet. There are many on the team who are relatively new, and the pace is fast, so there's an element of building the plane while flying it. However, this is an opportunity to have ownership and accountability for growth.
