Pros
You get to work on an exciting project with a lot of talented peers. The entire company is remote (that is a pro for me). The company is backed by Riot, trying to give a great push. They seem to sometimes give a chance to people with no gaming background, which is really nice.
Cons
Leadership still has no idea where they want to steer their first game - but argue and fire you if you ask questions too much. There is a great amount of secrecy around the real, high impact conversations between Riot and Hypixel. Other conversations on the employee levels are filled with hype and lies. There is a major direction change at least once a year. The company has a lot of OGs (from Hypixel Minecraft) and industry experts that are burnt out, fired or already left (see Simon's new studio). There is a huge disconnect between leadership and employees, direction and work being done, high-level Riot meetings and actual people trying to get things done. They fail to hire and/or retain any middle management. They keep talking about long term bonuses, while in reality everyone is just an expendable contractor - except the folks in HQ, Derry. There is a show for diversity efforts, while real problems don't get addressed and minorities in the studio get ignored or underrepresented. Several folks had to leave because of their lives being affected in terrible ways. Myself received a now half-year-long, still ongoing tax issue due to their neglect of getting operations properly in hand.
