Pros

Actual stocked beer fridge on site. Really. No HR department either. There really is no dress code, so no suits needed. Jeans, t-shirts, flip-flops are fine. You get the opportunity to learn new things and skills but not on new technology. During winter, if you can't make it in due to snow, you can work from home. Nearly every month they celebrate birthdays with a catered lunch. No parking costs as the company is in a business park with ample parking. If the company every takes off, the profit sharing plan will be very generous. Certain positions will get a chance to travel to customer sites, even though those places are sometimes in the middle of nowhere.

Cons

Being a small business they have no real negotiating strength with health insurance companies, so you are better off securing your own health insurance as their plan is too expensive and the coverage is really limited. If you don't want to be exposed to people dropping the "F-bomb" in nearly all normal conversations, don't consider this company. If you come from an environment were cussing is considered unprofessional then the senior staff are going to shock you. The "blue collar" mentality and all the baggage that comes with it is firmly preached and practiced by most of the staff, and after awhile it gets old and can be embarrassing. If you don't follow college sports teams like the KU, K-State or MU or professional teams like the KC Chiefs you might not have a lot to talk to anyone about. They talk about the desire to move toward standardization in all areas, but it's just talk. Any movement in that direction is meet with indifference. Since it is a small business and does most of its business with small businesses, IT pros are not going to get a chance to play with new interesting technology as anything costing more then $500 is considered too expensive. The company is currently in a buy-out situation, so do not expect any kind of raise when you are there.

Pros

Flexible working, can work from home if you need to. Beverages supplied in break room.

Cons

No raises, sometimes long hours, some supervisors hard to work for because they are so demanding.
