I’ve been at CodeHS for a number of years and have watched it evolve from a small, scrappy startup into a well-established company of around 100 employees. Throughout that time, the company has demonstrated steady and impressive growth, the revenue side being no exception. Hitting and exceeding revenue goals has become the norm, and it’s been exciting to be part of a team that continues to gain momentum year over year.
The business performance is strong, but what’s made CodeHS stand out to me is how that success hasn’t come at the expense of culture. The Directors I’ve worked with have been thoughtful, supportive, and effective. They lead with clarity, communicate expectations well, and actually invest in the people on their teams. It’s an impactful leadership style that blends high performance with genuine care.
I’ve also gone through some personal & professional transitions while at CodeHS, and the support I’ve received, especially from my direct manager, has made a lasting impression. Most recently, I transitioned into a new role within the company, and both my Director and the CEO were extremely supportive of the move. That level of trust and flexibility is rare. In my experience, many companies talk about supporting internal mobility and career growth, but CodeHS actually follows through. This speaks a lot to the culture.
