Wesleyan celebrated Black History Month with a special event hosted by our BEME (Black, Ethnic Minority, and Everyone) Staff Network Group. Colleagues joined in person and online for an insightful session with Dr. Audrey Allwood, an expert on Caribbean migration and belonging. She shared her research on inter-generational kinship and mental health in the Black community. We were also joined by diversity advocate and part of our Members Advisory Board, Adrian McClean, for an inspiring Q&A and networking lunch. For World Menopause Day 2024, our GEN (Gender) Staff Network Group arranged a fantastic event hosted in-person and online where colleagues bravely shared their personal journeys, along with stories of how they are supporting loved ones going through menopause. This was followed by an interactive webinar hosted by My Menopause Centre’s expert Dr Anna Greaves and Dietician Nigel Denby, who discussed how to eat well for the menopause.
