The company, which intends to operate as a real estate investment trust (REIT), plans to initially invest in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), and triple-net lease assets that are not guaranteed by a federal agency. It also plans to invest in securities backed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae. AG Financial Investment, which was formed in June 2009 and filed to go public the following month, will be externally managed by AG REIT Management, a subsidiary of investment advisor Angelo, Gordon & Co.
