It provides the attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals when companies need legal assistance on a project basis and it offers direct hiring for permanent positions. Large clients use the company for workload management and litigation support. Small legal offices use Special Counsel to create a "virtual law firm" to handle large projects. Specialized services include medical document reviewing and court reporting. Special Counsel has about 50 offices in the US. It was a subsidiary of global staffing firm MPS Group, which was acquired by rival Adecco in 2010.
