Description Crescent Point Energy (formerly Crescent Point Energy Trust) has light and medium oil and natural gas assets in eight core properties in western Canada (Alberta and Saskatchewan). The company has net proved plus probable reserves of 175.7 million barrels of oil equivalent. In 2011 it acquired oil assets in North Dakota. Crescent Point Energy Trust was formed through the reorganization of two junior oil and gas companies, Crescent Point Energy Ltd. and Tappit Resources Ltd. in 2003. More than 80% of its production is in southern Saskatchewan, where it is the largest oil producer. In 2009 the Trust acquired Bakken explorer Wild River Resources and converted to a corporation to improve shareholder value.
