DRS Codem Systems designs and makes communications equipment, such as high-performance antennas, satellite, and other wireless hardware and software systems, for military and commercial clients worldwide. Its Signals Intelligence division develops surveillance systems for military and law enforcement customers. The company also targets the homeland security market with network access systems that facilitate communication between the military and first responders during emergencies. Codem Systems was acquired in 2005 by defense contractor DRS Technologies and then added DRS to its name.
